Last week on tiktok I discussed my observation on how korea was slowly (in my opinion) becoming a sex tourist hot spot. With foreight women coming to korea to specifically sleep with korean men. Unfortunately this also negatively affects foreign women living in korea wanting to live normally but can't due to unwanted male attention.

    If there’s an increase of foreign women wilding out & sleeping around then that perception increases, it’s only natural. It sucks but I don’t put the entire blame on the men when there’s women going over there just to sleep with them ..like obectifying them from tv shows 😂😂 that’s wild

    Honestly.... considering for how long the US government and media has feminized and desexualized asian men, I say good for both the Korean men and female tourists. Thanks to the popularity of Korean entertainment, we're slowly seeing the damaged reputation of asian men in the US reverse. Honestly, kudos for the women who come to Korea to try to meet the local men, and I wish them luck.

    Lived in Korea for half a year, couldnt care less about the beauty standards because first, they are not for me. Im Latina and in my country the standards are very different. Also do not take any local, men or women, comments on your look serious. Koreans just like many asians like to comment on other people's appearance, not with malice intent but because that is a common asian thing. I just feel sorry for the people those beauty standards are severely affecting. Colorism is everywhere in the world, in some countries is more extreme than others, people obsessed with looking whiter💀

    Thank you for bringing this topic!!! It's one of the few opinions that ACTUALLY corresponds to the REAL beauty standard in Korea. Koreans DO NOT want to look like white people. They want to have a pale skin often referred to as "porcelain" skin which in the past indicated to noble origin of the person because he didn't need to work outside in the sun.

    In any society or country, there are individuals known as "Passport Bros" who travel abroad seeking easier access to sexual encounters. Similarly, there are women who engage in sex work for various reasons. However, it's important to recognize that not all Filipino women are involved in sex work, just as not all Korean men seek out foreign women for sexual purposes. Please avoid generalizing all Korean men as sex tourists.

    I started looking at Asian videos for makeup and skincare research. While I loved the deep, glossy black of Shiseido’s liquid eyeliner, I wanted to explore more affordable options (I also researched Italian and Moroccan brands.). I have also dealt with decades chronic eczema (dr.s in US we’re not very helpful.), so I’m always researching ingredients to calm and prevent flareups (I did develop a routine and a diy serum that has helped me go from monthly flare-ups to staying flareup-free for over two years.). My serum includes ingredients native to a few continents ( Korean red ginseng, shea butter, snow mushroom extract, vitamin d oil, argan oil, coconut oil, etc.). I have watched several videos (documentaries and indie) to learn and better understand the culture. I truly understand that the traditions from the Joseon Dynasty still influences a lot today… the class obsession and desire for pale skin. I think some of the ww confusion might come from the desire for pale skin, combined with the popular trend of surgeries for double eyelids and slimmer noses.

Any time my girlfriends hype up Korea and say that they are going there, (and it's not business related) the first thing that comes to mind now is "oh you're just going there to hook up with a Korean guy..." Kboos and korean fetishe have ruined Korea for me. I lived in Korea for half a year and the level of desperation from both, women going after the kdrama fantasy because that is how delulu and ridiculous they are, and almost 95% of Korean men see us foreigner women as easy to use for sex because of these kboos who are willing to do anything just to have the 'korean man kdrama experience'. Its just gross. You cant walk in Seoul without these men following you and asking you for a date because of this mindset they have. While I just wants to have fun with my friends, enjoy the food and places so we can make more make memories together.

    Korean beauty standards are not about looking like a 'white' person. The focus is simply on keeping your skin tone as light as it can possibly be. It comes from the idea that lighter skin means you come from wealthier families that could keep you sheltered from the sun. Darker skin tones are equated with farming and working at outdoor street markets.... lower working class life. Princesses don't get exposed to such light. The same thinking extends to men.... with a slight exception being for exceptional athletes.

    I understand what you mean but realistically people set precedent for others on how to treat them. If South Koreans see that foreign people are willing to put out quicker with no real commitment and little in return then men who other wise would have had to “level up” before getting a woman will be attracted to them. Momentary a weak man will go for the foreigner then later ha It’s not simply because you are foreigners but because different cultures have different standards and boundaries that they teach their people to have. It’s also not fair too that you are telling people to be careful because in five years South Koreans will view foreigners differently. You are doing the same thing to South Koreans that you are saying is wrong for them to do to foreigners. Why expect S.Korean people to be so self aware and to over ride deductive reasoning. If you know that a group of men say somewhere in from Latin America will marry quickly and take care of you that’s deductive reasoning. Also saying women should be able to sleep around and it not affect other women to an extent is not realistic because groups of people sometimes are influenced by peers. It seems some S Korean women understand that their actions affect how people see other S. Korean women. Is it fair maybe not but that how things are.

    These things don't just happen in Seoul. I used to live in the country side, in a very small farm village in Jeollanam-do and I've experienced older Korean men approaching me. One tried to force me to go to a bar or some place with him and kept following me. He only backed off when this elderly Korean woman walked by and was staring him down. There was also another incident involving this creepy cafe guy, who kept calling me his wife and telling me he loved me. It was in the middle of the day, and I guess the guy was on a break because he was with a group of co-workers (all men), so thankfully he didn't try to take me anywhere with him, but he did force me to give him my number and made sure to call me to verify it was mine before leaving (I ended up blocking his number of course). This all happened several years ago. Back then they already thought foreign girls were "open-minded", so there's no telling how bad it will get now that people are going to Korea specifically to have sex with local men, and are announcing it to the world.

  • @olaszlachciak8745
    @olaszlachciak8745 20 дней назад

    Honestly, the generalization of foreigners also lies heavily on the Korean mindset. This is one of the biggest differences I've noticed between korean people and other nationalities. Korean people (speaking in general) have a very set and specific way of thinking and grouping people/nationalities/types of situations and then applying the same copy and paste way of thinking if they happen to meet a similar person/be in a similar situation. I've never encountered this type of behaviour so deeply ingrained in a whole nation and it still shocks me almost every day even though I'm very well aware of this.

    Ur saying that a woman should be able to sleep around with whoever she wants without men believing that all women are like that. But the point is that doesn’t make it right. I know now in the world wrong thing have become right and right things have become wrong . And the point is the men doesn’t know which women is easy no they don’t so they are going to try all women. Until they meet the easy one. And this is the reason why women need to be careful with body.Women believe oh it just sex but it more deeper than that it is spiritual every Man u sleep with leaves a deposit with u check it out.

When I was in high school it was mostly the white girls who wouldn’t dare date an Asian guy. I know girls of other races do this too, but I only know this about the white girls where I went to school. They did not see Asian men as attractive and called them all kind of names and just ignored them. • @Sorga2059
    @Sorga2059 20 дней назад

    You’re right. I think thanks to K-drama, K-pop idols and the ‘fake image’ they project, there is a fetishisation of Korean men by foreign women which create this demand for emotional and sexual tourism to get a ‘Korean boyfriend’ or just sex with Korean men. Korean men take full advantage of that and they also have that image of foreign women being ‘easier’. Some POS see free sex no attachment, no consideration coming their way. For many Korean people, all foreigners are the same. Foreign women who go to Korea to work, study, etc. should be warned because they are plagued with this reputation by default and therefore become targets. Some Korean men see them as wh**** and what they post in some forums is truly disgusting. A safer country doesn’t mean a country where you have a better protection. Women should be careful in a patriarchal and conservative society where there are harsher sentences for drug use than SA.

The way they would then talk to me about how easy and fun the girls were the next day, using phrases like 백마 and I'd be like BRO I'M WHITE TOO, stop. I'd often end up meeting some of these girls while being out with said friends and I always felt sorry for them knowing that they were being love bombed and within a week or two they were gonna be disgarded when my mates got their next bumble match. And then the amount of foreign girls I know who have lived here for 2-3 years and complaining how 'done' they are with Korean guys. Of course this isn't everyone. But it's pretty common in my experience.

      @@freshwildflowers that is weird but yet not surprising. A lot of guys find white women attractive they don't want to wife up. Even guys in my country are obsessed with blonds. It's the beauty standard.

      @somabalestra1131 Beauty without benefits, unfortunately, when it comes to Korea. It's ok when there is mutual consent, but for the woman, it is not always a win emotionally and psychologically. People are not food to try and spit out, and neither are they bed pans.......!😮

    Unfortunately getting hit on in public is something I have to deal with a lot of in Tokyo as well. I think Japanese men have a similar view on foreign women being “open minded”…

    It's so sad and reductive that a country, its people and the foreigners going there (for vacation, work, school or whatever) will automatically be linked to stereotypes, be it for Korea or other countries. I want to study in Korea for my year abroad because my home university has a partnership there with a great university that really interests me and has courses that suit my needs but I already expect people to judge me for that, and as someone who has a lot of trouble dealing with the judgment of others, it's really scary. I'm not even the type of person to be hit on, to date, to go out in clubs or whatever but I know this perception some Korean have of foreign women AND the perception that people from where I am have of women who go to Korea might sadly be put on me without me asking for anything. I just want to live my life in peace but at some points, it's even making me question my choice. I just find it so sad and reductive that everywhere in the world, women are denied the right to be themselves and to have their own interests/goals because people will always imposed their image of them (at least, that's my opinion!).

      Welcome to the world of being black. That's exactly how black people get treated. The stereotypes placed on them by the imagination and experiences of other people affects their whole life. From finding work, to dating, to buying a home, making money, dealing with police, etc...There is still places today they can't even go or do in 2024. Not without having to deal with negative stereotypes. Imagine a black dude who wants to marry a girl but she tells him she cant marry him because her society/culture dont like his skin color. But she will have sex with him secretly to live out her BBC fantasy. That's why stuff like PassportBros started. So they can escape all that foolishness in western countries.

    My sentiments are that confidence and self-assurance are highly attractive qualities. It's important for everyone, particularly women, to take pride in themselves. Confidence without insecurity can significantly enhance personal appeal. I've noticed a trend where many women post vlogs about their relationships, especially with Korean partners. It's interesting that men rarely do the same. This could be because men often prefer to keep their personal lives private, avoiding sharing such details online. This discrepancy raises questions about why women feel the need to share so much about their relationships and family lives. Is it an attempt to reassure themselves about the stability of their lives? Privacy is indeed a powerful tool, and there's value in sharing less. Overexposure can sometimes undermine the very security and confidence we seek to project. Finding a balance between openness and privacy can lead to a more empowered and authentic self-presentation.
